Comunicação de más notícias em contextos de saúde

Abstract

A realização desta pesquisa visa, essencialmente, explorar a forma como os médicos comunicam as más notícias e como vivem emocionalmente este tipo de tarefa. A partir da revisão teórica realizada sobre o tema, procuramos entender a forma como todo o processo decorre, nomeadamente a preparação, os aspetos que caracterizam todo o processo e posteriormente conhecer a forma como os participantes vivenciam esta tarefa, de difícil trato. Procuramos conhecer todo este processo no seio do contexto hospitalar. Recolhemos a opinião de dez médicos, através de uma entrevista parcialmente estruturada, que permitiu conhecer a experiência dos profissionais. Pretendemos com o nosso trabalho ajudar futuros médicos a lidar com este tipo de tarefa e a identificarem novas características que desconheciam. Os resultados encontrados revelaram, elementos caracterizadores da fase de preparação e do processo de comunicação de uma má notícia, o impacto emocional gerado, dilemas e questões éticas que esta tarefa pode desencadear; ABSTRACT: The carrying out of this research aims, primarily, to explore the way how the doctors communicate the bad news and how they live emotionally with this task. According to the theory review made about the theme, we wanted to understand the way how all the process was happening, specifically the preparation, the aspects that characterize all the process and afterwards to know how the players feel and support this complicated task. We wanted to know all the process in hospital context. We collected the opinion of ten doctors, through an interview partially structured that allowed the knowledge of the experience of the different professionals. We pretended with our work, to help future doctors to deal with this type of task and to identify new characteristics unknown for them. The results showed characterized elements of the stage of preparation and the process of communication of the bad news, the emotional impact conceived, dilemmas and ethic matters that this task can initiate.
