O Aqueduto do Convento de Cristo, em Tomar: bases para uma proposta de salvaguarda e valorização

Abstract

O propósito desta dissertação é o Aqueduto do Convento de Cristo em Tomar, mais conhecido pelo seu troço aéreo no vale dos Pegões. É uma estrutura que complementa o sistema hidráulico interno do conjunto conventual. Esta iniciativa tem a assinatura do Rei D. Filipe I de Portugal. A sua construção, no final do séc. XVI tem por finalidade garantir as necessidades de abastecimento hídrico da comunidade religiosa. O reconhecimento e registo que realizámos tem a intenção de identificar esta estrutura, numa perspectiva que permita uma visualização integral do conjunto. Dentro desta visão, procuraremos identificar a razão deste desenvolvimento e intercepção territorial, localizar as diferentes formas que este assume e modo específico do seu sistema hidráulico. Neste sentido, foi nosso intuito realizar um mapa do estado da sua conservação e apresentar bases para uma proposta de salvaguarda e valorização. /ABSTRACT; The main purpose of this dissertation is the Water supply of the Convento de Cristo in Tomar, more known for its large construction of the Pegões valley. lt is an architectural set that complements the hydraulicalic system of the conventual's set, mostly built outside its' fence. This initiative has got the signature of King O. Filipe I of Portugal. With the begging of its construction by the end of XVI century, its central purpose was the reinforcement of the hydraulic supplied to fulfil the convent’s needs. The recognition and register that we intend here to carry through, has the intention to identify this structure, in a perspective that allows an integral visualization of the set inside of this vision, we will look for to identify the reason of is development and its territorial interception, to locate the different forms that he assumes and his specific whey as a hydraulic system. ln this scenery it is our intention to carry through a map of the conservation state and to present bases for a save proposal for is protection and valuation.
