MARBLE PARDAIS_technical analysis

Abstract

This technical study regards a decay evaluation on Bluette FM marble to understand its expected performance on a period of 16 years after installation. The physical mechanical properties evolution of this marble along time was based upon regional research of published work [1 - 2] and previous tests provided by Mármores Galrão company [3]. Notice that local geological heterogeneities can constrain the marble expected performance and physical-mechanical behavior (Figs. 1 and 2). In this analysis, the expected performance was also established considering a global Fonte da Moura quarry marbles (FM quarry) analysis.
