Intervenções no património arquitetónico no século XXI: cidade de Évora

Abstract

Nos núcleos urbanos históricos, alguns dos edifícios classificados atualmente como património, deixaram de ter o uso para o qual foram projetados e construídos inicialmente. Ao longo do tempo, muitos destes edifícios tiveram outros usos, outros programas e como consequência, foram submetidos a várias alterações e adulterações estruturais e arquitetónicas. Devemos pensar, no que se tornaram atualmente estes edifícios patrimoniais, refletindo sobre os vários usos a que foram sujeitos. A cidade de Évora é uma escolha inevitável para o estudo das intervenções em património arquitetónico, devido à sua classificação pela UNESCO, como património mundial, desde 1986. A partir de uma investigação inicial sobre as recomendações e processos de conservação e reabilitação em edifícios patrimoniais, refletimos de seguida, sobre a forma como intervimos e transformamos o património em Évora, tendo em conta as metodologias de intervenção que melhor valorizam estes edifícios e como tal a própria cidade; ABSTRACT: Architectural Heritage Interventions in the XXI century - City of Évora In historic urban centers, some of the buildings currently classified as heritage, no longer have the use for which they were designed and built initially. Over time, many of these buildings had other uses, other programs and as a consequence, they underwent various structural and architectural alterations and adulteretions. We must think about what these heritage buildings have become, reflecting on the various uses to which they were subjected. The city of Évora is an unavoidable choice for the study of interventions in architectural heritage due to its classification by UNESCO as a world heritage site since 1986. Based on an initial investigation into the recommendations and processes of conservation and rehabilitation in heritage buildings, we most reflect on how we intervene and transform heritage in Évora, taking into account the intervention methodologies that best value these buildings and as such the city itself.
