Abstract
The aim of this story is to present and reflect on the local platform engendered in Évora (Portugal) – ‘plat.for.evora’ - aiming to promote territorial cohesion and social innovation. This platform was developed in collaboration with researchers and local actors and emerged following a suggestion given by Frank Moulaert included in a study about social innovation in Évoira. If collaboration is the core concept of ‘plat.for.evora’, its main goal is to promote the reconstruction of social networks of proximity with the active participation of local entities as community mediators. This first intention was complemented by critical thinking debate sessions and experimental social innovation initiatives. The ‘plat.for.evora’ first results showed the relevance of ‘creative ideas labs’: initiative focused on the tools, knowledge and networks needed by organizations to implement local management processes, to be sustainable and to add value to the existent resources.
