Medicina de urgências e cuidados intensivos: Hemoperitoneu

Abstract

Este relatório foi realizado no âmbito do Mestrado Integrado em Medicina Veterinária, com base na experiência de seis meses de estágio curricular no Hospital Veterinário do Bom Jesus, em Braga, entre cinco de setembro de 2022 e cinco de março de 2023. O documento encontra-se dividido em duas partes. Na primeira parte é abordada a casuística observada pela estagiária no seu horário de trabalho, e na segunda parte é abordado o tema “hemoperitoneu” e descrito um caso clínico observado no Hospital. Hemoperitoneu é a acumulação de sangue na cavidade peritoneal e, de acordo com a sua origem, e pode ser hemoperitoneu traumático (HT) ou hemoperitoneu espontâneo (HE). É uma afeção complexa e de etiologia variada que dificulta a sua resolução. O diagnóstico definitivo é obtido através da análise do fluído peritoneal e o seu tratamento é dependente da etiologia. No final do relatório discutimos um caso acompanhado no hospital veterinário do Bom Jesus; - Emergency Medicine and Critical Care: Hemoperitoneum Abstract: This report was written for the Masters Degree in Veterinary Medicine, in the context of a six month curricular internship at the Veterinary Hospital of Bom Jesus, in Braga, from 5th of September 2022 to 5th of March 2023. The report is divided in to two parts. The first part discusses the casuistry observed by the intern during her working hours, and the second part is a compilation of information about “hemoperitoneum” and describes a clinical case observed at the hospital. Hemoperitoneum is an accumulation of bloody fluid in the peritoneal cavity and according to the origin is divided into traumatic hemoperitoneum and spontaneous hemoperitoneum. It is a complex affection with a variety of etiologies, which makes its resolution difficult. The definite diagnosis is obtained through the analysis of peritoneal fluid and the treatment depends on etiology. At the end of the report, we discuss a clinical case followed at the veterinary hospital of Bom Jesus.
