O falar de Marvão: património imaterial raiano

Abstract

Na sequência de trabalhos já desenvolvidos sobre esta temática, neste projeto de doutoramento pretende-se dar continuidade à recolha, estudo e preservação do Falar de Marvão, enquanto parte relevante do património cultural imaterial da raia. Após a apresentação do conceito de Património Cultural Imaterial e da relevância do seu estudo e preservação, em especial das línguas/dialetos em perigo de extinção; procede-se à caracterização do espaço da raia do Nordeste Alentejano. Esta análise desenrola-se sob o ponto de vista geográfico, demográfico e socioeconómico, seguindo-se uma breve abordagem sobre o contrabando e as relações de fronteira nesta região, conscientes de que as especificidades do espaço e das suas gentes condicionam decisivamente as características da linguagem dos seus habitantes. O estudo do falar centra-se essencialmente no plano lexical. Assim, numa primeira fase, é abordado o léxico comum a outras regiões e à norma, mas alterado por fenómenos fonético-fonológicos, morfológicos e semânticos; sendo a segunda fase dedicada ao léxico característico da região, catalogado como regionalismo ou, quando não se encontra registado, como original. No âmbito da antroponímia, são ainda estudadas as muitas alcunhas existentes no concelho de Marvão. Conscientes de que as fronteiras linguísticas diferem das políticas, é também objetivo deste trabalho delimitar as diferentes áreas geolinguísticas existentes no concelho de Marvão e na raia espanhola e contribuir para a compreensão da sua especificidade. Para além da variação geográfica, pretende-se ainda estudar brevemente a influência das variações diacrónica, sociocultural e diafásica neste falar de raia, procurando sempre compreender qual a evolução e a vitalidade desta variedade linguística; Abstract: The dialect of Marvão: border’s intangible heritage Following studies on this subject, the present doctoral study intends to give continuity to the data collection, analysis and preservation of Marvão’s dialect, as a relevant part of the border’s intangible cultural heritage. After presenting the concept of Intangible Cultural Heritage, as well as the importance of studies and preservation, specially of languages/dialects in danger of extintion, the work proceeds with a characterization of the border in Northeast Alentejo. This analysis focuses on the geographic, demographic and socioeconomic points of view, followed by a short approach about the smuggling and border relations in this area, being aware that the specificity of the region and its inhabitants affect decisively the language features. The analysis of Marvão’s dialect focuses essentially at the lexical level. Therefore, the first stage of this work will be an approach about the lexicon, common to the other regions and portuguese standard, but modified by phonetic and phonological, morphological and semantic phenomena; the second stage is dedicated to the typical lexicon of this region, which is catalogued as regionalism or, when not registered, as original. Within the antroponimia field, the frequent nicknames in Marvão district are studied. Aware of the fact that the language borders differ from the political borders, it is also an objective of this work to delimit the different geolinguistic areas in Marvão district and the spanish border, contributing to the understandig of its specifity. Apart from the geographical variation, the influence of the diachronic, sociocultural and diaphasic variation in border dialect will be studied, trying to understand the evolution and vitality of this linguistic variety.
