Práticas de responsabilidade social e de desenvolvimento sustentável: estudo de caso na Cooperativa de Produção e Exportação do Cacau Biológico em STP

Abstract

A escolha do tema: Práticas de Responsabilidade Social e de Desenvolvimento Sustentável – Estudo de Caso na Cooperativa de Produção e Exportação do Cacau Biológico em S. Tomé e Príncipe – não se centra apenas em entender como esta organização opera, qual o nível da sua responsabilidade social e de sustentabilidade, mas, também evidenciar a sua relevância na área de gestão. A pesquisa tem como objetivo geral compreender e analisar o grau de desenvolvimento das práticas de responsabilidade social e de sustentabilidade organizacional, sobretudo nos domínios interno e externo e nas áreas ambiental, social e económica, na Cooperativa de Produção e Exportação do Cacau Biológico em S. Tomé e Príncipe. A metodologia deste estudo de caso tem por base uma investigação bibliográfica e outra empírica, através de uma metodologia quantitativa e qualitativa, suportada por um questionário e entrevistas semiestruturadas, com base num guião devidamente elaborado e em análise documental. Por um lado, os resultados admitem provar que práticas de responsabilidade social e de sustentabilidade são percecionadas como realidade na CECAB e, por outro lado, este estudo fornece pistas para orientar e inspirar outras cooperativas a enveredaram pelo mesmo caminho; - Abstract: Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development Practices Case Study in the Cooperative of Production and Export of Organic Cocoa in STP The choice of the theme: Practices of Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development – Case Study in the Cooperative of Production and Export of Organic Cocoa in S.Tomé and Príncipe – focuses not only on understanding how this organization operates, what level of its social responsibility and sustainability, but also to highlight its relevance in the area of management. The research has as general objective to discover and study the degree of development of the practices of social responsibility and organizational sustainability, especially in the internal and external domains and in the environmental, social and economic areas, in the Cooperative of Production and Export of Organic Cocoa in S. Tomé and Príncipe. The methodology of this case study follows a bibliographic and an empirical investigation, through a quantitative and qualitative methodology, supported by a questionnaire and semi-structured interviews, based on a properly elaborated script, opinions and documentary analysis. On the one hand, the results admit to proving that social responsibility and sustainability practices are perceived as reality in CECAB and, on the other hand, this study provides clues to guide and inspire other cooperatives to embark on the same path.
