Representações da mulher na psicopatologia masculina no gótico americano contemporâneo

Abstract

A Literatura, o Cinema e a Arte revelam bastantes pontos de contacto entre si, no que concerne a representação de atos grotescos e violentos, resultantes das psicopatologias humanas. Nesta investigação, realçou-se a projeção da figura feminina na mente psicótica masculina, de modo a compreendermos o verdadeiro impacto das suas ações e dos seus motivos num universo masculino psicologicamente perturbado. Neste sentido, chegou-se a uma seleção, para a qual convergiram algumas obras de autores americanos contemporâneos, como Robert Bloch, Thomas Harris, Bret Easton Ellis e Stephen King; de realizadores, como Alfred Hitchcock, Michael Powell e David Lynch; de artistas, como Willem De Kooning, Jackson Pollock, Nan Goldin e Cindy Sherman. Assim, tentar-se-á evidenciar a génese das psicopatologias masculinas, nas quais há fatores determinantes que as desencadeiam – no passado e no presente – levando a um processo contínuo e inacabado. Serão, também, estabelecidos paralelismos entre as tipologias artísticas mencionadas, a fim de evidenciar como se manifestam os impulsos agressivos e obsessivos nas criações artísticas dos artistas selecionados; ABSTRACT:Literature, Cinema and Art reveal many links with each other regarding the grotesque and violence, as a result of human psychopathologies. This research will give emphasis to the projection of the female figure in the male mind, in order to understand the true impact of his actions and his representations in a psychologically disturbed male universe. For this purpose converged contemporary artists, from Literature, Cinema and Art, such as Robert Bloch, Thomas Harris, Bret Easton Ellis, Stephen King, Alfred Hitchcock, Michael Powell, David Lynch, Willem De Kooning, Jackson Pollock, Nan Goldin and Cindy Sherman. This way, I will try to evince about the origin of the male psychopathologies, in which there are crucial factors that trigger them – in the past and present – leading to a continuous and unfinished process. There will also be established parallels between the artistic types mentioned, in order to demonstratate how aggressive and obsessive impulses express themselves through the artistic creations of the selected artists.
