Monsaraz: o percurso da água

Abstract

A dissertação aqui apresentada pretende tirar partido das novas singularidades existentes na paisagem do território da vila de Monsaraz. Exemplar da arquitetura militar medieval, com um grande papel na defesa e permanência da fronteira portuguesa e espanhola, é atualmente um ponto obrigatório de passagem no Alentejo. Através das arquiteturas da água responsáveis pela fundação e permanência deste marco na planície alentejana propomos um ressuscitar da memória sobre estruturas esquecidas nesta vila alentejana e conciliá-las ao que de novo se pode experienciar na paisagem que o grande lago de Alqueva nos proporciona. Aliado a uma inventariação do património das estruturas que acolhem a água, propõe-se um percurso que une estas mesmas estruturas e nos lança pelo território de encontro às águas do Alqueva e a esta nova perspetiva do território; ABSTRACT: This dissertation aims to take advantage of existing new singularities in the Monsaraz village territory. An example of the medieval military architecture, with a large role in the defence and permanence of the Portuguese and Spanish border, is now an obligatory point of passage in the Alentejo. Through the water architectures, responsible for the foundation and permanence of this milestone in the Alentejo, we propose a resurrect of the memory of this forgotten structures in this village and bond them to the new landscape that the great lake of Alqueva provides us. Associated to the inventorying of the water structures, we propose a path that unites these same structures and launches us against Alqueva waters and this new perspective of the territory.
