Multiplier and Innovation effect of the Engineering & Tooling sector in Portugal

This report addresses two interconnected problems. The first one is to specify strategies to estimate the value of the Engineering & Tooling sector within the Portuguese and European economies, taking into consideration not only its pure accountancy value, but also the eventual value added by this particular sector to the whole economy. The second problem is to propose strategies to estimate the impact of innovation in the production process of companies belonging to the Engineering & Tooling sector, as well as to point out the present recommended practices to reflect such investment in innovation on the companies accounts.
