Avaliação precoce da deglutição à pessoa com acidente vascular cerebral, na prevenção de complicações: contributos do enfermeiro de reabilitação

Abstract

A deglutição é um processo natural e fundamental na sobrevivência do ser humano. É através deste que é garantido o transporte dos diferentes alimentos da cavidade oral até ao estômago, impedindo a sua passagem para a via aérea. Quando esta função está comprometida é sinónimo de disfagia. No acidente vascular cerebral pode surgir disfagia devido às alterações neurológicas que provocam a perda da inervação dos músculos responsáveis pela deglutição. De acordo com a Ordem Enfermeiros (2011), o enfermeiro de reabilitação exerce aqui um papel crucial ao nível da identificação e reeducação da deglutição comprometida. Este relatório apresenta como principal finalidade demonstrar as competências, de especialista e mestre, aprendidas e consolidadas, resultantes da realização do Estágio e da implementação do projeto de intervenção profissional, subordinado ao tema “Avaliação precoce da deglutição à pessoa com acidente vascular cerebral, na prevenção de complicações: Contributos do enfermeiro de reabilitação”; ABSTRACT: Early evaluation of swallowing to the person with stroke, in the prevention of complications: Contributions of the Rehabilitation Nurse. Swallowing is a natural and fundamental process in the survival of the human being. It is through this that is guaranteed the transport of different foods from the oral cavity to the stomach, preventing their passage to the airway. When this function is compromised it is synonymous of dysphagia. Dysphagia can occur in stroke due to neurological changes that cause loss of innervation of the muscles responsible for swallowing. According to the Ordem dos Enfermeiros (2011), the rehabilitation nurse plays a crucial role in the identification and re-education of compromised deglutition. The purpose of this report is to demonstrate the skills, both specialist and master, learned and consolidated, resulting from the completion of the Internship and the implementation of the professional intervention project, under the theme "Early evaluation of swallowing to the person with stroke, in the prevention of complications: Contributions of the rehabilitation nurse ".
