Dando sequência a um possível desígnio no período dos reinados D. Manuel e de D. João lll onde se sugere a existência de duas praças Reais ribeirinhas a oriente e a ocidente de Lisboa. “Porta Oriente" é a proposta para a resolução e, em certa medida, a conclusão para o que historicamente se pode considerar a tentativa consistente de abrir uma praça a nascente tornando-a uma realidade e de modo, a abrir-se como nova praça ribeirinha Esta “Porta” equaciona a necessidade histórica, política e fenomenológica da existência destas praças reais (ou de terreiros) na frente de água assim como.
