W.R.Bion e o conceito de Barreira de Contacto

Abstract

Este trabalho resulta de uma investigação do conceito de “barreira de contacto”, do psicanalista inglês Wilfred Bion, numa aproximação e comparação metodológicas e conceptuais entre filosofia e psicanálise. A tese resultante é a seguinte: embora o autor defenda que esse conceito pode ter uma utilidade clínica singular ainda por desenvolver, o conceito de “barreira de contacto” é da maior relevância para o pensamento filosófico, no que respeita à concepção de consciência, aos limites do conhecimento e ao papel das emoções no processo de pensamento. As emoções, para Wilfred Bion, são os elementos fundadores de toda a vida mental, e a “barreira de contacto”, sendo constituída pelo produto das experiências emocionais transformadas internamente, é a estrutura responsável pela criação do consciente e o inconsciente e pela distinção entre ambos. Esta tese indica igualmente propostas de investigação futuras: o desenvolvimento de uma linha de pensamento, quer no plano epistemológico quer hermenêutico, que incorpore esta singular concepção de consciência e o modo de atribuição de sentido na linguagem e no pensamento, implicados no conceito de “barreira de contacto”; W. Bion and the Concept of Contact Barrier Summary: This work is the result of an investigation on the concept of ―contact barrier‖, by the English psychoanalyst Wilfred Bion, through a methodological and conceptual comparison between philosophy and psychoanalysis. The resulting thesis is as follows: even though the author argues that the concept of ―contact barrier‖ may have a singular clinical use, still underdeveloped, the concept of ―contact barrier‖ is of great importance to philosophy, concerning the conception of consciousness, the limits of knowledge, and the role of emotions in thought processes. The emotions, for Wilfred Bion, are the fundamental elements of all mental life, and the ―contact barrier‖, being constituted by the product of the emotional experiences, internally transformed, it is the structure responsible for the distinction between the conscious and the unconscious, and for its inception. This thesis also points to possible future investigation paths: the development of an investigative line, both on epistemology and hermeneutics, that integrates this singular conception of conscience and the way of attribution of meaning in language and thought, involved in the concept of ―contact barrier‖.
