Abstract

As doenças do lenho da videira (DLV) são atualmente responsáveis por prejuízos significativos nas vinhas em todo o mundo, sendo uma preocupação crescente para todo o setor vitivinícola. Por se tratar de um dos maiores sectores de mercado, tanto em termos de valor económico como social e histórico, é crucial abordar esta questão. Esta dissertação teve como principal objetivo aprofundar o conhecimento sobre as DLV, descrevendo as suas características gerais, a sua evolução, sintomatologia e métodos atualmente disponíveis e adequados para mitigar os seus efeitos. Esta abordagem integradora contribui, assim, através do conhecimento científico, para ajudar a evitar, da melhor forma, os danos diretos verificados nas vinhas, prolongando a longevidade e a produtividade das plantas; Grapevine Trunk Diseases: an integrative approach Abstract: Grapevine trunk diseases (GTDs) are currently responsible for significant damages in vineyards worldwide, and are a growing concern for the entire wine industry, one of the sectors with the largest market presence, both for its economic value and for its social and historical value. The aim of this dissertation was to develop a more profound knowledge about GTDs, describing their general characteristics, evolution, symptomatology and adequate methods to mitigate their effects. This integrative approach contributes, through of scientific knowledge on this subject, to help to prevent, in the most efficient way, the damage to vineyards, increasing the longevity and productivity of the plants.
