Atitudes e comportamentos sexuais de risco em idosos

Abstract

A sexualidade é uma dimensão importante para os idosos, mas a investigação nesta área tende a excluir esta população. Neste sentido, pretendeu-se estudar as atitudes sexuais (AS) e comportamentos sexuais de risco (CSR) nos idosos. Realizaram-se três estudos: o teste da estrutura fatorial da Escala de Atitudes Sexuais (EAS) e dos seus modelos alternativos (N = 451); o teste de um modelo de predição entre as variáveis idade, género, estado civil, habilitações literárias e meio e os fatores da EAS (N = 451); o teste de um modelo de regressão múltipla com variáveis latentes (N = 122) entre os fatores da EAS e o modelo unifatorial de uma adaptação do Questionário de Comportamentos Sexuais de Risco (QCSR). Com a versão da EAS que apresentou melhor ajustamento, a idade, género, estado civil e meio foram tidas como preditoras das AS e o fator Sexo Ocasional foi tido como preditor dos CSR; Sexual attitudes and risky sexual behavior in the elderly Abstract: Sexuality is one dimension of the elderly, but research in this area tends to exclude this population. In this study, sexual attitudes and risky sexual behaviors (RSB) in the elderly were explored. Three studies were carried out: one for testing the factor structure of the Sexual Attitudes Scale (SAS) and its alternative models (N = 451); another for testing a prediction model between the variables age, marital status, educational level, and place of residence, and the SAS factors (N = 451); and, finally, the test of a SAS and a multiple regression model with latent variables (N = 122) between the SAS’s factors and a unifactorial model of an adaptation of the Risky Sexual Behaviors Questionnaire. With the version of SAS that presented the best fit, the variables age, gender, marital status, and place of residence were predictors of sexual attitudes, and the factor Occasional Sex was a good predictor of RSB.
