Abstract

The present invent describes the use of a novel lignocellusosic precursor for the production of activated carbons. The materials production is done by carbonization under inert atmosphere and activation with carbon dioxide and/or steam. It is also possible to perform a chemical activation with KOH. The activated carbon produced can be used in several application on liquid and gas phase, such as pollutants removal, catalysis, water treatment and some other applications in medicine
