Roça Monte Café: preservação e valorização da presença de um passado histórico de S. Tomé e Príncipe

Abstract

Pretende-se com este estudo, contribuir para valorizar e preservar o passado ainda vivo nas roças pioneiras no cultivo do café em S. Tomé e Príncipe. Para rentabilizar e preservar esse património que ainda hoje subsiste, se associou património ao turismo com o objectivo de melhorar o nível sociocultural e atrair benefícios económicos para as comunidades envolvidas. Assente nesses princípios, a descrição aborda a localização espacial e histórica das Ilhas numa primeira fase, e desenvolve em seguida os aspectos ligados a preservação e valorização do património dos conjuntos envolvidos. A rota, o núcleo museológico proposto e a análise das respostas do inquérito realizado sobre a conservação e valorização, serão também considerados, bem como um inventário expositivo realçando em pormenor as particularidades ainda existentes e os resultados do inquérito realçando a sensibilidade da população em relação ao património. Este estudo promove o património e incentivará iniciativas que conduzem a preservação do património; ABSTRACT: This essay deals on the one hand with aspects intended to make aware all those interested in appreciate and preserve the still alive past history in plantations of Sao tome and Príncipe pioneer in coffee production. On the other hand, the purpose of this study focus on the recent idea related to the joint-ventures based on the association of patrimony and tourism, whose main goal is to improve the social live level of the people and obtain economic benefit in favaou to entire community. As it obvious the paper alludes to history of the island itself and secondly with patrimony of Monte Café Plantation. The outstanding value described can be seen in the areas such as: a) surrounding route, 2) museologic nucleus proposed, 3) analysis of the survey done, 4) value attributed to this santomean preciosity, and 5) exposed inventory lauching existing particularities affliated to local population. In summary, this essay is willing to promote and turn aware incitives relate to the preservation of santomean patrimony.
