As análises a longo prazo dos dados do GASCOD para o NO2, no seu período de operação na MZS (1996-2012), e dos dados obtidos com os instrumentos GOME e SCIAMACHY instalados em satélites vão ser comparadas; Remote sensing environmental instrumentation applied to the study of minority compounds in the Antarctic atmosphere Abstract: In this work an approach to the environmental instrumentation, specifically to the ground-based remote sensing instruments for the monitoring of atmospheric trace gases, is made. A brief description of the GASCOD (Gas Absorption Spectrometer Correlating Optical Differences) spectrometer, installed at the Italian Antarctic Mario Zuchelli Station (MZS), is presented. In addition, the ultimate improvements made in this spectrometer, which gave birth to the SPATRAM (SPectrometer for Atmospheric TRacers Monitoring), will be reported, specifically the implementation of the AMS3 (Advanced Micro Stepping Controllers) and the Sestilio ADC converter. Further the DOAS (Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy) methodology, technique used to obtain the total amount of the minority gases, namely the Nitrous Dioxide (NO2) and the Ozone (O3), will be described. The long term analyses of the GASCOD’s full data-set (1996-2012) for the NO2 at the MZS, is analysed and compared with the data of the instruments GOME and SCIAMACHY installed in satellites.por
