dc.description.abstractBased on the ¨ariational approach, a new Hamiltonian formulation to analyze dispersion-managed solitons in wa¨elengthdi ¨ision multiplexed systems is de¨eloped. Using the Hamiltonian dynamics, the periodic dispersion maps that minimize residual frequency shifts in a two-channel system can be easily determined. Comparison with full numerical simulations ensures the accuracy of our reduced formulation.en
