La société sucrière du Burkina Faso (SN SOSUCO): de l’aménagement du territoire à la préservation de la mémoire (1965-2020)

Abstract

Titre: A sociedade açucareira do Burkina Faso (SN SOSUCO) : da gestão do território à preservação da memória (1965-2020) - RESUMO: A Nouvelle Société Sucrière de la Comoé (SN SOSUCO) é a única indústria açucareira do Burkina Faso, fundada em 1965 e ainda em atividade. O complexo agroindustrial está situado na região de Cascades, entre as comunas de Bérégadougou e Banfora. Para o funcionamento da indústria açucareira, o governo do Burkina Faso concedeu à SN SOSUCO 10.000 ha de terras, dos quais 4.000 ha estão reservados à cultura da cana-de-açúcar. O objetivo da indústria açucareira é cultivar e transformar a cana-de-açúcar em produtos e subprodutos açucarados. Após meio século de atividade, a empresa açucareira construiu um património cultural significativo. Este património inclui bens e locais tangíveis e intangíveis. Ausente da lista do património cultural do Burkina Faso, apresentámos as razões que justificariam a sua inclusão. Apresentámos igualmente propostas para promover este património açucareiro junto da população do Burkina Faso; - RÉSUMÉ: La Nouvelle Société Sucrière de la Comoé (SN SOSUCO) est l’unique industrie sucrière du Burkina Faso créée en 1965 et toujours en activité. Le complexe agro-industriel est situé dans la région des Cascades, entre les communes de Bérégadougou et de Banfora. Pour le fonctionnement de l’industrie sucrière, l’État burkinabè a concédé à la SN SOSUCO 10 000 ha de terres, dont 4 000 ha sont réservés à la culture de la canne à sucre. L’industrie sucrière a pour objectif la culture et la transformation de la canne à sucre en produits et sous-produits sucriers. Après un demi-siècle d’activités, la société sucrière a constitué un important patrimoine culturel. Ce patrimoine comprend des biens et des sites matériels et immatériels. Absent sur la liste du patrimoine culturel du Burkina Faso, nous avons donné les raisons qui justifieraient son inscription. We have also formulated proposals for the valorization of this sugar heritage among the Burkinabé population.
