O pretérito perfeito e imperfeito do indicativo: contributo para o estudo do verbo em Angola

Abstract

O presente estudo pretende realizar uma descrição, e posterior análise, das dificuldades sentidas pelos alunos na distinção dos usos linguísticos das formas simples do Pretérito Perfeito e do Pretérito Imperfeito do Indicativo na variedade do português angolano. Pretende-se contribuir para o estudo do sistema verbal, mais particularmente, para o estudo das variações aspetuais e da consciência que delas têm os falantes angolanos no uso refletido da língua. Nestes termos, a análise que propomos é uma avaliação, quer de competências linguísticas, quer de desempenhos linguísticos de falantes de nível de escolaridade médio e superior (estudantes e respetivos docentes). Se falamos em uso refletido da língua é na medida em que a atualização e posteriores descrição e análise das formas verbais de Pretéritos Perfeito e Imperfeito do Indicativo ocorrem em contexto frásico de trechos narrativos e descritivos. Pretendemos, assim, caracterizar o paradigma verbal, tendo em conta as suas propriedades morfológicas e sintático-semânticas, destacando semelhanças e/ou divergências destes tempos verbais na variedade do português de Angola. O uso indiferenciado dos tempos em análise poderá ser indicador de uma escolha aleatória por parte dos falantes angolanos; ABSTRACT: “Pretérito Perfeito” and “Imperfeito” of the Indicative: Contribution to the Study of the verb in Angola The present study aims to carry out a description and subsequent analysis of the difficulties in distinguishing the linguistic uses of the simple forms of the “Pretérito Perfeito” and the “Pretérito Imperfeito” of the indicative in the variety of Angolan Portuguese. It is a contribution to the study of the verbal system and, specifically, to the study of the inherent aspectual variations and of the awareness that Angolan speakers have of them in the reflected use of the language. The analysis conducted is an assessment of both language skills and linguistic performance of speakers with secondary and higher education levels (students and their teachers). The reflected use of language and the subsequent description and analysis of the verbal forms of “Pretérito Perfeito” and “Pretérito Imperfeito” are underpinned by some narrative and descriptive excerpts. We aim, therefore, to characterize the verbal paradigm, considering its morphological and syntactic-semantic properties, highlighting similarities and/or divergences of such verbal tenses in the variety of Portuguese in Angola. The indiscriminate use of the tenses under analysis may be indicative of random choices by Angolan speakers.
