Introdução à edição portuguesa de O Nomear e a Necessidade de Saul Kripke

Abstract

In this introduction, the author explains who is Saul Kripke (1940-) and describes the intellectual context in which he gave three famous lectures in the University of Princeton in January of 1970, which were taped and latter transcribed, edited and published (in 1972 and 1980). Then he presents an overview of the main themes and problems discussed in Naming and Necessity. At the end he gives a reading list suggested to approach the study of this work.
