Felicidade na vida terrena. Revisitar o barroco para criar uma proposta artística alternativa à ideia de felicidade celestial

Abstract

This actual theoretical research and my artistic project start from the ideological conception of heavenly happiness implied in the fresco painting "The glorification of St. Ignatius" by Andrea Pozzo, in order to oppose a world´s appreciation defense to it. More than attacking the illusory idea of happiness outside of this actual world – located in a distant paradise, or in another reality outside of us -, I had as main goal to demonstrate the potential of the world and, consequently, that of the human being, through artistic thoughts and proposals which value them. The description follows a non-linear time conception and closer to the rhizome concept, elaborated by Deleuze/Guatari. At the same time, I emphasize the vital importance of dream and desire for happiness, aspects which are non-equivalent to the easy way of illusion and escape settled on the premise that the world is nothing more than suffering; RESUMO: A presente pesquisa teórica e o meu projeto artístico partem da conceção ideológica de felicidade celestial implícita na pintura de fresco “A glorificação de Santo Inácio” de Andrea Pozzo, para contrapor a defesa de uma valorização do mundo. Mais do que atacar a ideia ilusória de uma felicidade exterior ao mundo presente – situada num paraíso distante ou numa outra realidade alheia à nossa - tive como principal objetivo demonstrar o potencial do mundo e, por consequência, o do próprio ser humano, através de pensamentos e propostas artísticas que os valorizaram. A descrição segue uma conceção de tempo não-linear e até mais próxima do conceito de rizoma, elaborado por Deleuze/Guatari. Ao mesmo tempo, saliento a importância vital do sonho e do desejo para a felicidade, aspetos não equivalentes ao caminho fácil da ilusão e da fuga, assente na premissa de que o mundo nada mais é que sofrimento.
