Olarias no Garb al-Andalus

Abstract

RESUMO: Procura-se neste trabalho caracterizar as olarias do Garb al-Andalus a partir dos dados de intervenções arqueológicas, publicados até ao momento. Verifica-se uma distribuição quase exclusiva dos contextos oleiros a sul do rio Tejo e em meio urbano, embora esta perspectiva dependa essencialmente de trabalhos arqueológicos preventivos, podendo não corresponder à realidade. As produções destas olarias são, na generalidade, similares às de outros pontos do al-Andalus sobretudo para o período compreendido entre o final do século XI e o início do século XIII. ABSTRACT: The aim of this work is to characterize the potteries of Garb al-Andalus based on data from archaeological interventions, published so far. There is an almost exclusive distribution of pottery contexts south of the Tagus River and in an urban environment, although this perspective depends essentially on preventive archaeology surveys that may not correspond to reality. The productions from these kilns are, in general, similar to others in al-Andalus, especially for the period between the late 11th century and early 13th century.
