Actividades experimentais no ensino de polímeros ao nível do 11º ano do ensino secundário de Cabo Verde

Abstract

“Os polímeros estão por todo o lado”. Partindo desta realidade e da abertura que o programa da disciplina de Química de 11º ano de escolaridade em Cabo Verde, dá à participação dos materiais Poliméricos no processo de ensino - aprendizagem, estabeleceu-se uma estratégia predominantemente experimental para reforçar esse processo. A realização de um conjunto integrado de actividades laboratoriais permitiu aumentar a motivação, a aprendizagem e o conhecimento dos alunos. O estudo mostra que cresceu o interesse pelos Polímeros e pela Química em geral. A informação qualitativa e quantitativa recolhida ilustram também uma melhoria do sucesso escolar. Essas actividades foram realizadas em duas Escolas Secundárias da Cidade da Praia, na ilha de Santiago, em Cabo Verde, Escola Secundária Pedro Gomes e a Escola Secundária Constantino Semedo; ABSTRACT:“Polymers are everywhere”. Starting from this reality and from the opportunity of the Chemistry 11th grade discipline in Cape Verde, gives to the contribution of polymeric materials in the teaching-learning process, we establish a predominantly experimental strategy to reinforce that process. The implementation of an integrated set of experiments allowed an increment of the motivation, learning and knowledge of the students. This study shows a growing of the interest by the polymer materials and for the chemistry in general. Both the qualitative and quantitative data collected also show an improvement of the educational success. These activities were conducted in two secondary schools in Praia City, on Santiago Island, Cape Verde, the School “Pedro Gomes” and School “Constantino Semedo”.
