Abstract
The rapid economic development in Brazil has lifted millions of its people from poverty, and has propelled Brazil in the global liemlight along with other emerging economies of the world scuh as Russia, India and China (BRIC). It has also started a llively debate as how to balance industrialization and urbanization with traditional sectors of its economy such as agriculture, desertification, and issues related to deforestation. This chapter discusses the major areas of Brazillian economy and their impact on quality of human life in Brazil with particular reference to climate change.
