A pluriactividade na agricultura: o caso particular do Concelho de Grândola

Abstract

A presente dissertação pretende dar a conhecer os resultados da pesquisa desenvolvida sobre a pluriatividade na agricultura. Neste trabalho fiz a caracterização agrícola concelhia e avaliei no espaço local o fenómeno desta nova forma de ruralidade. Para o efeito pretendi contribuir para o entendimento, num quadro regional, das representações sociais dos atores locais face à pluriatividade na agricultura - o caso particular do concelho de Grândola. Na elaboração da minha dissertação de Mestrado, utilizei as quatro técnicas de recolha de dados mais frequentes na investigação sociológica: a observação direta, a pesquisa documental, o inquérito por questionário e a entrevista. Após o tratamento e análise dos dados obtidos, concluí que: - As receitas das explorações agrícolas são insuficientes para satisfazer as necessidades dos agricultores e suas famílias; - Os agricultores locais, tornaram-se minoritários no universo em estudo, diversificando as suas áreas de atividade; - O espaço rural para além da produção de cereais e outras culturas apresenta-se agora disponível para funções diversificadas (predominantemente no domínio das atividades turísticas); - A pluriatividade na agricultura assume uma importância vital, no desenvolvimento regional; - A PAC, ao ser introduzida, criou nos agricultores um conjunto de expectativas, as quais não se vieram a concretizar na sua globalidade; - O mundo rural neste concelho apresenta-se muito debilitado, tendo os agricultores consciência da necessidade de praticarem outras atividades além da agricultura. ***/Abstract - The current dissertation aims to let know the results of the research developed on multi-activity on agriculture. In this work l has made the district's agricultural characterization and I have locally evaluated the phenomena of a new form of rurality. I have helped for the understanding, in a local basis, of the social representations of the local intervenients respecting the multi-activity in agriculture - on the specific case of Grândola's district. On the making of my Master degree thesis, l has used four common techniques on the data gathering in sociology: direct observation, documental research, the filing of questionnaires and interview. After the analysis of the results, l have concluded that: - The income of agricultural exploitation is not enough to satisfy the needs of farmers and their families - Local farmers have become a minority in society, varying their income source - Besides the production of cereals and other cultivations, the rural space is now available for different functions (mainly touristic activities) - The multi-activity in agriculture assumes a vital importance on local development - By the introduction of the CAP, local farmers have created expectations that have not generally been satisfied - ln this district, the rural world is quite feeble, creating the need to practise other activities besides agriculture.
