Garimpeiros e exploração artesanal de pequena escala de ouro

Abstract

Este trabalho foi realizado com o intuito de enquadrar a atividade do garimpo em termos históricos, geológicos, económicos e sociais e todas as questões inerentes ao tema. O objetivo principal passa pela apresentação de uma síntese das perspetivas que o garimpo e a exploração artesanal de pequena escala de ouro apresentam quer a nível mundial, quer no caso específico de Portugal, que se apresenta como um verdadeiro desafio a esta atividade, explorando um pouco do que foi historicamente o garimpo em Portugal e como se desenvolveu noutros países, de forma que ainda hoje é uma atividade de grande importância para as principais economias mundiais. Também procura responder aos desafios dos garimpeiros a nível de regulamentação da atividade e a realidade do garimpo ilegal, face às regulamentações impostas e aos sistemas criados, assim como, quais as metas futuras e condicionantes que fazem desta atividade um verdadeiro desafio para os garimpeiros; Artisanal gold miners and small-scale gold mining Abstract: This work was carried out with the intention of framing the mining activity in historical, geological, economic and social terms and all the issues inherent to the theme. The main objective is to present a synthesis of the perspectives that gold mining and small-scale artisanal exploration present both worldwide and in the specific case of Portugal, which presents itself as a real challenge to this activity, exploring a little of what mining was historically in Portugal and how it developed in other countries, so that today it is still an activity of great importance for the main world economies. It also seeks to respond to the miners challenges in terms of activity regulation and the reality of illegal mining, in view of the regulations imposed and the systems created, as well as what are the future and conditioning goals that make this activity a real challenge for miners
