Kuvale: transumância entre globalização e tradição: documentário experimental hipermédia

Abstract

KUVALE. Transumância entre globalização e tradição é um trabalho artístico em formato de documentário experimental hipermédia online, que articula texto, imagem, som e vídeo de forma hipertextual. Os materiais audiovisuais que constituem a essência da obra são originais e resultaram de entrevistas a pessoas do grupo Kuvale, na sequência de uma viagem realizada pela autora ao continente africano, em agosto de 2010. Os Kuvale são pastores praticantes da transumância que habitam no sudoeste do Angola. A obra nasceu da descoberta do outro que nos é estranho e da reflexão sobre a crescente globalização das culturas tradicionais. O material híbrido e em rede sugere ao utilizador o entendimento desse outro, através dos testemunhos dos seus protagonistas. As reflexões produzidas remetem-nos para os fatores que contribuem para a ‘ocidentalização’ das culturas tradicionais e para a possibilidade de num lugar remoto o local poder ser global; ABSTRACT:KUVALE. Transhumance between globalisation and tradition is an artistic work in the form of an online experimental and hypermedia documentary, which combines text, image, sound and video in hypertext form. These materials are unique and were the consequence of the interviews made to the Kuvale people, after a trip made by the author to Africa in August 2010. The Kuvale, living in the southwest of Angola, are shepherds who practice the transhumance. This project comes from the discovery of “the other” who is strange to us and from the observation of the increasing globalisation of the traditional cultures. The hybrid network material suggests to its user the understanding of “the other” through the testimonies of its characters. The produced observations lead us to the factors that contribute to the 'westernization' of traditional cultures and to the possibility that a remote location can be a global location.
