A notação e o discurso musical

Abstract

O objectivo da Tese é o de contribuir para uma reflexão sobre o papel da Notação Musical em todo o fenómeno musical, desde o processo da sua composição, as suas características discursivas, à fruição pelo público, passando pela acção do intérprete, tentando estabelecer pontes entre os vários discursos musicais e as várias opções de notação, contribuindo para uma melhor utilização e exploração das suas potencialidades e limitações. Centro grande parte da atenção nas questões práticas, como por exemplo a coordenação dos acontecimentos que as “novas” notações levantam na realização de peças para grupo de câmara com necessidade de direcção e sua possível leitura através de partes instrumentais/vocais individuais, não abordando assim em pormenor os aspectos particulares da sua simbologia. Proponho portanto uma reflexão sobre possíveis soluções para o problema da coordenação vertical, em notações que não usem o compasso para esta coordenação; ### Summary: The aim of this thesis is to contribute to the reflection on the role of Musical Notation, throughout the musical phenomenon, from the process of its composition, its discursive features to the fruition by the public and the action of the interpreter, trying to bridge the various musical discourses and the various options of notation, contributing to a better use and exploitation of its potential and limitations. I focus most of the attention on practical issues, such as the coordination of the events that "new" notations raise in the implementation of pieces for chamber group needing direction and its possible reading through instrumental/vocal individual parts thus not addressing in detail the particular aspects of its symbolism. I therefore propose a reflection on possible solutions to the problem of vertical coordination in notation that doesn’t use the compass for this coordination.
