Arquitetura em Portugal no século XX - Amílcar Pinto: Teatro Rosa Damasceno como caso de estudo

Abstract

A presente dissertação desenvolve-se em torno da obra do Arquiteto Amílcar Pinto. Não sendo este, considerado um dos arquitetos mais relevantes na história da arquitetura do nosso país, contribuiu para o seu desenvolvimento, construindo em todo o país edifícios de diversas tipologias. De forma a contribuir para um melhor conhecimento destes projetos, pareceu essencial fazer um enquadramento da Arquitetura do século XX, na Europa, Portugal e na região do Ribatejo (zona em que Amílcar Pinto mais desenvolveu a sua obra). Após a identificação das diversas obras do Arquiteto, foi selecionado o projeto do Teatro Rosa Damasceno como caso de estudo, a fim de se realizar uma proposta de reabilitação. Este localiza-se numa das vias principais do centro da cidade de Santarém e atualmente encontra-se devoluto. A intenção desta proposta prende-se em manter a memória visual do passado e em simultâneo devolver o espaço à comunidade e à cidade; - ABSTRACT: Architecture in Portugal in the Twentieth Century - Amílcar Pinto: Teatro Rosa Damasceno as a Case Study This dissertation is developed around the work of the Architect Amílcar Pinto. Not being this, considered one of the most relevant architects in the history of architecture of our country, contributed to its development, constructing throughout the country buildings of various typologies. In order to contribute to a better knowledge of these projects, it seemed essential to make a framework of the Architecture of the twentieth century, in Europe, Portugal and in the region of Ribatejo (area in which Amílcar Pinto most developed his work). After the identification of the various works of the Architect was selected the project of the Teatro Rosa Damasceno as a case study, in order to carry out a proposal for rehabilitation. This is located on one of the main roads of the center of the city of Santarém and is currently vacant. The intention of this proposal is to maintain the visual memory of the past and at the same time return the space to the community and the city.
