Representações sociais da violência conjugal: uma visão sociológica

Abstract

Neste estudo – Representações Sociais da Violência Conjugal: uma visão sociológica – interessou conhecer os diversos elementos que compõem as representações sociais sobre a violência conjugal da população desta freguesia do alto Alentejo. Realizaram-se, no seu conjunto 119 entrevistas semi-directivas, através de uma amostragem por "bola de neve". O conteúdo de cada entrevista foi posteriormente categorizado e procedeu-se à sua análise. Os resultados mostram que embora exista uma continuidade nas representações sociais referentes ao processo de vitimação, nas causas tanto gerais como especificas que envolvem as praticas utilizadas na violência conjugal. Na verdade, e no que se refere às representações sociais sobre a definição dos conceitos em estudo, as tipologias mais comuns, a percepção das suas consequências, a percepção do contacto com a violência conjugal e a sua dimensão, conclui-se que estas estão cada vez mais em processo de mudança. /***Abstract - Social Representations of Marital Violence pretends to show a sociological perspective trying to scan the various elements of marital violence social representations of the population in this Alto Alentejo village. 119 interviews were made using a snow ball sample approach. The contents of each interview were analyzed and it showed that there was still some continuity in the social representations referring to the process of victimization, as well as about motivations and usual practices used in marital violence. On the social representations about most concepts being studied, the most common typologies, the perception of its, outcomes, the perception of marital violence involvement and its outreach, we may find that all these present a more dynamic process of change.
