| dc.description.abstract | This paper is a simulation study on the improving of the ability of an offshore wind system to recover from a fault in the rectifier converter by shielding the DC link of the converter assisted by a redox vanadium flow battery. The wind system is a variable speed wind turbine with a permanent magnet synchronous generator and a five-level multiple point diode clamped converter. Contributions are given for the study of: (i) the fault influence on the DC link capacitor bank; (ii) the drivetrain modeling of the floating platform, including marine waves modelling; (iii) the vanadium flow battery integration in the wind system. A case study is offered to conclude about the ability of riding through the fault. | por |
