Perspetivar a expetativa da família do utente idoso face à evolução da reabilitação após a entrada na unidade de cuidados continuados

Abstract

O presente trabalho pretende conhecer as expectativas dos familiares do utente idoso face à evolução da reabilitação após a entrada na Unidade de Cuidados Continuados de média duração. O trabalho carateriza-se por ser um estudo de caso, exploratório e de natureza qualitativa. O presente estudo foi realizado com cinco participantes, selecionados entre os familiares dos utentes idosos na UCC. O instrumento de colheita de dados utilizado foi a entrevista semiestruturada. O conteúdo dos discursos dos participantes, foi analisado através da técnica da análise categorial temática, de acordo com os princípios da análise de conteúdo. Através da análise de dados foram obtidos os seguintes resultados: os entrevistados manifestam a esperança na recuperação dos familiares através do otimismo, do seu bem-estar e da recuperação da sua autonomia. Também foi referido pelos familiares dos doentes, o apoio prestado pelos técnicos, bem como, as atividades que ocupam os utentes durante o dia; ABSTRACT: The expectations of the family relatives of elderly patients given the evolution of rehabilitation after their entry into the Continued Care Unit with an average length This work intends to meet the expectations of the family relatives of elderly patients given the evolution of rehabilitation after their entry into the Continued Care Unit with an average length. The work is characterized as a case study, phenomenological, exploratory and qualitative in nature. This study was conducted with seven participants, selected from among the relatives of elderly users in the Continued Care Unit. The data collection instrument used was a semi-structured interview. The participants speeches was analyzed thru a thematic category technique, according to the principles of content analysis. Through the analysis of data the following results had been gotten: the interviewed ones reveal the hope in the recovery of the familiar ones through the optimism, its well-being and the recovery of its autonomy. Also it was related by the familiar ones of the sick people, the support given for the technician, as well as, the activities that occupy the usuaries during the day.
