O sistema família no "microecossistema" cuidados intensivos

Abstract

Estudo exploratório-descritivo quanti-qualitativo em tomo da problemática internamento numa unidade de cuidados intensivos (UCI) e as implicações no sistema família. Tendo como pano de fundo a UCI do Centro Hospitalar do Barlavento Algarvio (CHBA), a população em estudo é a família dos doentes internados. O objectivo passa por determinar as emoções que este ambiente despoleta nos familiares do paciente. Os instrumentos de colheita de dados seleccionados são a entrevista semi-estruturada e o questionário. Os resultados revelam-nos que os familiares pensam que a UCI é um local onde se internam os doentes em risco de vida, consideram-no um local seguro e sentem­ se bem face ao apoio prestado pelos enfermeiros. Quando interagem com a UCI sentem interesse, medo ansiedade e tristeza. Concordam com os horários e tempos de visita mas necessitam de explicações clínicas, sobre o espaço físico e sob forma de preparação para entrar no novo ambiente. /ABSTRACT; Exploratory-descriptive and quanti-qualitative study about the hospitalar admission in a Intensive Care Unit (ICU) subject and the social ecosystem implications over the patient's family. It will fall over the patient's family at Centro Hospitalar do Barlavento Algarvio's (CHBA's) ICU. The study main objective is to determinate which are the triggered emotions above the patient’s family during the admission. The selected data collection instruments are the semi-structured interview and the questionnaire. According to the study results, the family members think that the ICU is a place where the endangered patients are admitted, a safe place and they feel comfortable with the nurses’ support. During the interface family/ICU, they feel curiosity, fear, anxiety and sadness. They agree with the scheduled visit period, however they need some clinical explanations about the patient, about physical space and how to prepare the entrance in the new environment
