Reciclagem e reutilização de matérias plásticas em Portugal: passado, presente e futuro numa visão global

Abstract

O principal objectivo deste trabalho consistiu na caracterização do passado e presente da área de reciclagem e reutilização das matérias plásticas. Apresenta-se um resumo histórico da evolução dos materiais plásticos, feito através da revisão histórica da reciclagem no Mundo e em Portugal. Na história e presente da reciclagem influem varias factores, com destaque para: as normas do Parlamento Europeu em que se baseiam as metais globais para a reciclagem, visando os benefícios ambientais e económicos, a par do não menos importante progresso industrial como principal gerador de resíduos. O segundo objectivo do trabalho consistiu na caracterização do sistema de reciclagem em Portugal, apontando os pontos fracos e fortes do mesmo. Mostrar os principais constituintes e gestores da área de reciclagem em Portugal, os tipos de ligações e compromissos entre eles. Em conclusão, pode-se afirmar que o mercado de plástico reciclado é um nicho a ser explorado e posteriormente desenvolvido; ABSTRACT:The main objective of this study was to characterize the past and present in the area of recycling and reuse of plastic materials. This work presents a historical summary of the developments in plastic materials, provided by the historical review of recycling in the World and in Portugal. In the history and present of the recycling domain, several factors are involved, with emphasis on: the norms and regulations from the European Parliament that underlie the global objectives for recycling, targeting environmental and economic benefits, and also the no less important industrial progress as the main generator of waste . The second objective of this work was the characterization of the recycling system in Portugal, pointing out their strengths and weaknesses. Present the major components and managers of the recycling area in Portugal, the types of connections and commitments between them. In conclusion, it’s possible to establish that the market for recycled plastics is a niche to be explored and subsequently developed.
