O poder da informação nas relações internacionais: os efeitos da Primavera Árabe em Angola

Abstract

O ano de 2011 marcou o início de uma nova era para a política africana: líderes longevos não resistiram ao poder das massas que saíram às ruas para protestar e exigir o afastamento o dos seus presidentes sem recurso a força ou a violência, mas apenas recorrendo as novas tecnologias. A presente dissertação de mestrado em Relações Internacionais e Estudos Europeus tem como objetivo estudar a importância da informação e dos meios de comunicação na massificação e difusão do poder. Tendo como pano de fundo a primavera árabe, este trabalho se propõem analisar o papel dos meios de informação (Televisão, internet e as redes sociais) na primavera árabe e como esta influenciou posteriormente o comportamento dos jovens que saíram as ruas em protesto contra o Regime angolano; Abstract: The Power of Information in International Relations: The Effects of the Arab Spring in Angola The year 2011 marked the beginning of a new era in African politics: longevos leaders did not resist the power of the masses who took to the streets to demand the removal of their presidents without recourse to force or violence, but only using the new technologies. This dissertation in International Relations and European Studies aims to study the importance of information and means of communication and mass diffusion of power. Against the backdrop of the Arab Spring, this paper propose to analyze the role of the media (TV, internet and social networks) in the Arab Spring and how this subsequently influenced the behavior of young people who came out to the streets in protest against Angolan regime.
