Os Teles : uma linhagem entre Castela e Portugal na Idade Média (1161-1385)

Abstract

A presente tese pretende fazer o estudo e análise das estratégias de reprodução de poder dos membros da família Teles, no território dos reinos de Portugal e de Castela, ao longo do final da Idade Média, entre os anos de 1161 e de 1385. Para tal, procedeu-se à identificação, análise e interpretação das fontes e expressões do seu poder, bem como o processo de construção e reprodução do mesmo ao nível dos dois reinos, uma vez que os membros da família actuam nos dois espaços políticos. Deu-se particular importância ao fenómeno das ligações e circulação no território em causa, cuja compreensão é da maior importância não apenas para o conhecimento da família observada, mas também da sociedade e relações políticas medievais peninsulares, nomeadamente a natureza e dinâmica dos poderes existentes. ___ ABSTRACT: This thesis aims to study and analyze the power strategies of the Teles family members, working as individuals and as a family, in the kingdoms of Portugal and Castille, during the Late Middle Ages, between the years of 1161 and 1385. Concerning this purpose, we have proceeded to the identification, analysis and interpretation of sources and expressions of these family members‘power, as well as the process of its construction and reproduction within the two kingdoms, since the members of family operate in both political territories. It was given special attention to the phenomenon of connections and circulation in the two kingdoms. The perception of this phenomenon is of utmost importance not only to identify the family's strategies but also to understand the peninsular society and policies relations ‘, including the nature and the dynamics of established power.
