A marca lexicográfica "termo do Brasil" no Vocabulario Portuguez e Latino de D. Rafael Bluteau

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyse the lexicographical mark “Brazilian term” in the Vocabulario Portuguez e Latino by D. Rafael Bluteau (1712-1721). This lexicographer compiled, in the form of a dictionary, part of the early 18th century Brazilian vocabulary by including many words related to Brazil (“brasileirismos”) in his Vocabulario, stressing them with a particular lexicographical mark. Besides that “mark”, this paper also analyses the different types of definition associated to it, as well as the sources used by Bluteau.
