Conjuntos externos de R2

Abstract

O objectivo desta dissertação é o estudo, no âmbito da Análise não Standard, dos subgrupos convexos externos do plano. Este estudo necessita de um conhecimento aprofundado dos subgrupos convexos externos de R, que é o assunto dos dois primeiros capítulos. A denominação comum de todos estes grupos é neutrix. Nos restantes capítulos estudámos os neutrices do plano. Considerámos vários exemplos relativamente a esta noção e estudámos propriedades geométricas e algébricas. Verificou-se que uma propriedade importante é a noção de tamanho, que é uma espécie de distância externa à origem. Mostrámos, em certos casos, que um neutrix de R2 a menos de uma rotação, é o produto cartesiano de dois neutrices de R, que de facto se interpretam como tamanhos segundo direcções ortogonais. /*** Abstract - The aim of this master's thesis is the study, in the setting of Non Standard Analysis, of the externai convex subgroups of the plane. This study needs a profound knowledge of the external convex subgroups of R, which is the subject of the first two chapters. The subgroups in question are called neutrices. In the remaining chapters we study the neutrices of the plane. We consider several examples related to this notion, and study geometric and algebraic properties. It appeared that the notion of size, which is a sort of external distance to the origin, played a substancial role. In certain cases, we proved that a neutrix of R2 is, up to a rotation, the Cartesian product of two neutrices of R, which in fact represent sizes which correspond to orthogonal directions.
