These discourses sometimes express hygienist, socialist, modernist and economic visions that change according to time and place. In this research, we seek to explain the formation of discourse around earthen architecture throughout the 20th and 21th centuries in Brazil, and to highlight the extent to which these discourses have been able to impact on the practice of techniques, in the process of enhancing this little-known heritage.
