Emoldurar a paisagem. Desenhar um jardim para Sines

Abstract

A presente investigação desta dissertação de mestrado integrado em arquitectura consiste numa revisão e consequente reflexão crítica do trabalho desenvolvido em grupo pelo autor juntamente com a colega Elisabete do Nascimento Pinho para as disciplinas de Projecto Avançado I e II, no ano letivo de 2015/2016, tendo como mote o «Concurso Prémio Universidades Trienal de Arquitectura de Lisboa Millennium BCP». Este concurso consistia no estudo e análise da cidade de Sines e toda a sua complexidade como cidade portuária e industrial, tendo esta proposta optado por um olhar mais focado no centro urbano da cidade, reflectindo como este se poderia desenvolver e que elementos fossem eles físicos, visuais ou simbólicos, se tornariam relevantes. Com o ritmo de crescimento que a indústria impôs na cidade desorganizando a sua malha urbana e proporcionando a desconexão com a vida e os meios rurais, tornou-se necessária a reflexão de como a arquitectura poderia ajudar a resolver estas duas problemáticas; Framing the landscape: Drawing a garden for Sines Abstract: The present investigation of this integrated master’s in architecture thesis consists on a review and consequent critical reflection of the work developed in group by the author together with colleague Elisabete do Nascimento Pinho for the disciplines of Projecto Avançado I and II , in the academic year of 2015/2016 with the motto of the “Concurso Prémio Universidades Trienal de Arquitectura de Lisboa Millennium BCP”. This contest consisted of the study and analysis of the city of Sines and all its complexity as a port and industrial city, with this proposal opting for a more focused look at the urban center of the city, reflecting how it could develop and what elements were physical, visual or symbolic, would become relevant. With the pace of growth that the industry imposed on the city, disorganizing its urban mesh and providing disconnection with life and rural areas, it became necessary to reflect on how architecture could help solve these two problems.
