Universidade Lusófona - Potencial Património Arquitectónico Industrial

Abstract

O trabalho que se apresenta está inserido no tema da arquitetura industrial portuguesa, nomeadamente no valor patrimonial que lhe pode estar inerente mas que, no nosso puis, tem vindo a ficar esquecido, salvo raras exceções. Tomando como caso o edifício da fábrica Lusitânia de lanifícios no Campo Grande (1840-1916), hoje pertencente à Universidade Lusófona, procedeu-se a um estudo de alguns elementos essenciais para o entendimento do valor patrimonial da mesma, criando linhas de orientação para a sua salvaguarda e valorização. O trabalho divide-se em três partes. Na primeira parte faz-se uma contextualização histórica, cultural e técnica da fundação do referido edifício, tanto ao nível nacional como internacional. Na segunda parte é analisado o edifício desde a construção e seu fundador até à sua evolução ao longo dos séculos de forma a se poder avaliar o valor e o que se poderá fazer com o que existe hoje deste testemunho. Na terceira é feita uma reflexão sobre o património arquitetónico industrial e a sua reutilização, serão analisados os princípios de salvaguarda do património à luz da sua aplicação na salvaguarda do património industrial, e são aplicados critérios de avaliação e de intervenção ao edifício analisado com o objetivo de orientar qualquer possível intervenção no mesmo. /ABSTRACT - The work presented is within the subject of the portuguese industrial architecture, namely the patrimonial value that can be inherent to it but that, in our country, has come to be forgotten in most of the cases. Regarding the case of the factory Lusitânia building, of wool work in Campo Grande (1840-1916), today belonging to University Lusófona, proceeds to study some essential elements for the understanding of its patrimonial value, creating lines of orientation for its safeguard and increase is value... The work is divided in three parts. In the first, it is presented a cultural, historical, and technical contextualization of the referred building's foundation, nationally and internationally. In the second part, the building is analyzed since its construction until its evolution along the centuries so as to determine its value and what can be done with what exists today of this legacy. In the third, it is conducted a reflection on the Portuguese industrial heritage and its reutilization, it will be analyzed the principles for the heritage safeguard in the light of its application for the safeguard of the industrial heritage, and it will be applied criteria of evaluation and of intervention to the analyzed building with the objective of guiding any possible intervention in it.
