Abstract

A presente investigação artística teórica e prática pretende encontrar e entender, a relação entre escultura, cinema, desenho, gesto, forma e corpo, tendo como campo de estudo principal e meio de exploração e criação artística, a olaria de Cabo Verde. A pesquisa tem como motivação principal um prolongado período de contacto e relação com a olaria tradicional e a arte contemporânea Cabo Verdiana. O exercício da minha prática artística implica o estabelecimento de uma série de relações entre o passado e o presente, situando-se entre a memória, o arquivo, a viagem e a poesia. O meu trabalho parte da ideia de viagem. A deslocação que procura experimentar para poder criar, explorar as fronteiras que unem e separam a imagem e a palavra, a semântica do signo e a materialidade do conceito; - The potter and the pot. Abstract: This theoretical and practical artistic research intends to find and understand the relationship between sculpture, cinema, drawing, gesture, form and body, having as its main field of study and means of exploration and artistic creation, the Cape Verdean pottery. This research has as its main motivation a prolonged period of contact and relationship with traditional pottery and contemporary Cape Verdean art. The exercise of my artistic practice implies the establishment of a series of relations between the past and the present, situated between memory, archive, travel and poetry. My work starts from the idea of travel. The displacement that seeks to experience in order to create, exploring the boundaries that unite and separate the image and the word, the semantics of the sign and the materiality of the concept.
