O museu municipal e a rede de património de Portalegre - política de conservação e valorização de bens museológicos (2006-2012)

Abstract

O Museu Municipal de Portalegre foi o local escolhido para realizar o estudo aqui apresentado, enquanto espaço de acolhimento da coleção antoniana de Herculano Curvelo e também como uma das unidades museológicas de Portalegre. Uma vez que o museu faz parte da Rede de Património de Portalegre, achámos pertinente analisar as restantes unidades museológicas desta cidade, no sentido de entender as sinergias criadas por esta Rede. A avaliação do estado de conservação do acervo dos museus deve ser feita aquando da sua inventariação, pois é um aspeto indispensável em qualquer sistema documental. O Museu Municipal de Portalegre não dispõe de técnicos especializados para desenvolver este trabalho, pelo que a parte prática deste estudo incide sobre a avaliação do estado de conservação da coleção antoniana. Desta forma, apliquei os conhecimentos da minha formação inicial em conservação e restauro, contribuindo para uma caracterização do estado desta coleção. A análise de todos os aspetos a que nos propusemos permitiu concluir que as unidades museológicas existentes em Portalegre sofreram melhorias significativas ao longo dos últimos anos; ABSTRACT: The Municipal Museum of Portalegre was chosen to conduct this study, as the host place of the Antoniana collection of Herculano Curvelo and also as a part of Portalegre museums. Since the museum is part of the Portalegre Heritage Network, we considered relevant to analyze the remaining museums of this city, in order to understand the synergies created by this netword. The evaluation of the conservation status of the collection of a museum should be made as a part of its inventory as it is an indispensable aspect in any documentary system. The Municipal Museum of Portalegre lacks technical expertise to develop this work, so the practical part of this study focuses on the assessment of the conservation status of the Antoniana collection. Thus, I applied the knowledge of my initial training in conservation and restoration, contributing to a characterization of the state of this collection. The analysis of all aspects allowed concluding that the existing museums in Portalegre suffered significant improvements over the recent years.
