Inovação em museus: o serviço educativo do Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Elvas

Abstract

O conceito de museu tem vindo a sofrer ao longo das últimas décadas algumas transformações, acompanhando a evolução da própria sociedade. Neste sentido, importa compreender um museu atual com novas especificidades e adaptado aos seus intervenientes. A par das alterações ocorridas nestas instituições emerge o Serviço Educativo, ao qual compete aproximar a instituição museológica da comunidade. Ao longo dos anos este serviço tem vindo a alargar os seus âmbitos de atuação, direcionando e adequando a sua oferta para os diferentes públicos (escolar, sénior, famílias, etc.) e utilizando métodos de comunicação que partilhem o seu potencial cultural. Neste contexto, através da realização de um estágio no Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Elvas, surgiu a oportunidade de analisar “in loco” o funcionamento do Serviço Educativo desta instituição como um elemento estratégico inovador que consiga captar, educar e aproximar a comunidade ao museu em análise; ABSTRACT: The museum concept has been suffering transformations over the last few decades, following the evolution of society itself. In this regard, it is important to understand the role of a modern museum, its new features and adaptation to its stakeholders and environment. Along the changes occurred in these institutions arises the museum’s Educational Service, which is committed to promote the contact and shorten the distance between the museum institution and the community it serves. Along the years this service has expanded its areas of action by directing and adjusting its offer to different audiences (schools, senior people, families, etc.) through methods of communication that share the institution’s cultural potential. In this context, over the training period at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Elvas I had the opportunity to understand "in loco" how its Department of Education works as the strategic and innovative instrument to capture, educate and bring the community to the museum under analysis.
