dc.description.abstractA simple model for sizing off-grid photovoltaic systems was implemented computationally. For validation of the computer program, the results obtained were compared with the results calculated with the RETScreen International Clean Energy Project Analysis Software. The comparison showed that both results are very similar. This enables to use the simple off-grid model as reference in order to discuss certain aspects of simplifications on the sizing of photovoltaic systems. This will be done respect to models about calculation of tilted irradiance, hourly beam and diffuse irradianceen
