Bem estar subjetivo e perceção de suporte familiar em idosos institucionalizados

Abstract

Foi realizado um estudo exploratório focado na avaliação do contexto e nos contactos familiares percebidos pelos idosos e da sua relação com o bem-estar subje-tivo. Inicialmente procurou-se retratar a amostra (N=126) quanto ao tipo e frequência dos contactos familiares nos idosos institucionalizados, procedendo-se à validação da escala de satisfação com a vida, necessária para o estudo sobre a relação entre variá-veis de contexto e contactos familiares e o bem-estar subjetivo. Neste, realizou-se uma regressão linear da satisfação com a vida com variáveis como os afetos positivos e negativos, ter ou não vida marital, habitar ou não com os filhos e os contactos famili-ares percebidos. Três variáveis tiveram um impacto negativo da satisfação com a vida: afetos negativos,a vida marital e viver com filhos. Foi realizado ainda um estudo quali-tativo, com uma amostra de 53 profissionais, com o objectivo de compreender as dife-rentes práticas institucionais que visam facilitar o vínculo idoso-família, traçando-se um possível retracto de como os contactos entre a família e os idosos se coadunam com a institucionalização; Subjective Well-being and perception of family support in Institutionalized Elderly. Abstract: One focused exploratory study was conducted in the context assessment and family contacts perceived by elderly people and its relationship with subjective well-being. We portray the sample (N = 126) regarding the type and frequency of family contacts in institutionalized elderly, proceeding to validate the scale of life satisfaction, required for the study on the relationship between family context variables and family contacts and subjective well-being.
