O sonho ibérico em Fernando Pessoa e José de Almada Negreiros

Abstract

O sonho ibérico é algo muito mais antigo do que se costuma imaginar e está ligado às relações políticas e culturais entre Portugal e Espanha, países que convive(ra)m e partilha(ra)m o mesmo espaço peninsular. Sempre houve contacto e trocas de conhecimento entre artistas e literatos das duas nacionalidades e esta aproximação e melhoramento das relações entre ambos tem o seu auge no século XIX. Ao longo dos séculos, os iberistas dividiram-se nos seus ideais ou propósitos ibéricos e o objetivo desta dissertação é mostrar o conhecimento de uma faceta ibérica em Fernando Pessoa, que aparentou não ter quaisquer interesses pela vizinha Espanha, e mergulhar na doutrina ibérica de Almada Negreiros, uma figura importantíssima no movimento histórico das vanguardas e no contexto espanhol. A análise do estudo incidirá numa comparação entre ambos os autores, conjugando com informações relevantes acerca dos próprios e do seu relacionamento com Espanha; Abstract: The iberian dream in Fernando Pessoa and José de Almada Negreiros The Iberian dream is much older than one might think, and it is linked to the political and cultural relations between Portugal and Spain, countries that coexist(ed) and share(d) the same peninsular space. There has always been contact and exchange of knowledge between artists and literati of both nationalities and the issue of approximation and improvement of relations between the two reached its peak in the 19th century. Over the centuries, the Iberians were divided in their ideals or purposes and the aim of this dissertation is to show the knowledge of an Iberian facet in Fernando Pessoa, who seemed to have no interest in neighbouring Spain, and to delve into Almada Negreiros’ Iberian doctrine, a very important personality in the historical avant-garde movement and in the Spanish context. The analysis of this study will focus on the comparison between both authors, combined with relevant information about themselves and their relationship with Spain.
